Taiji (Tai Chi) Sword delves deeper into the practice of Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan), maintaining the slow, graceful movements that are coordinated with mental focus and deep breathing. Like Taijiquan, it is often practiced for health benefits such as improved balance, body alignment, and relaxation, while also cultivating internal energy. The sword becomes an extension of the body, challenging the practitioner to coordinate the entire body while simultaneously conditioning the limbs.
In this workshop, students will learn and refine:
Experience: Beginner bare hand Taijiquan experience & weapons experience are helpful but not required.
Sword: Wooden swords are required for partner practice. Metal swords can be used for solo practice. If you do not have a sword, wooden swords are available on loan or for purchase at the school.
